Terms of Engagement
This page describes the role of Ubud Atelier, the role of the partner workshop, and how a project moves from first contact to delivery. It applies to every enquiry sent through ubudatelier.com and to every project introduced by Ubud Atelier.
The Role of Ubud Atelier
Ubud Atelier, operated by TANO, is an intermediary. It introduces international clients to a furniture workshop in Bali, facilitates communication between the client and the workshop, and relays information to the client during the project.
Ubud Atelier does not manufacture furniture, does not sell it, does not ship it, does not clear customs and does not deliver. It does not give any guarantee on the furniture, on lead times or on delivery.
The Partner Workshop
Production is carried out by Victory 999, a furniture workshop in Kerobokan, Bali. The workshop prepares the quotation, issues the invoices, manufactures the pieces, carries out quality control, packs the container and ships it door to door with its freight forwarders and the customs brokers they work with at the destination port.
Lead times, material specifications, packing methods, shipping arrangements and any warranty on the pieces are the workshop's, as set out in its quotation.
Contracts and Payments
The manufacturing contract is formed between the client and the workshop when the client approves the workshop's quotation. Ubud Atelier is not a party to that contract and does not issue quotations or invoices for furniture, production or shipping.
Payments for furniture, production and shipping are made to the workshop under its own terms. Any claim relating to the furniture, to production or to transport is handled between the client, the workshop and the freight forwarder or insurer concerned. Ubud Atelier can help pass information between the parties but has no authority to settle a claim on the workshop's behalf.
Information Published on This Site
The lead times shown on this site, 8 to 10 weeks of production and 12 to 20 weeks door to door depending on destination, are the workshop's typical lead times and are indicative. The lead time that applies to a project is the one stated in the workshop's quotation.
Customs duties, taxes, transit times and material performance are given for general information. They are confirmed by the workshop and its freight forwarder at quotation stage and may change between quotation and delivery.
The two reference projects shown on this site, Villa Torrella in Corsica and Villa Deco Umalas in Bali, were produced by the workshop before the launch of Ubud Atelier as a commercial brand.
